It is for applicants who have an occupation on the Core Skills Occupation List (CSOL), at least three years of relevant work experience and a positive skills assessment for their nominated occupation.
Applicants must be nominated by an approved Australian employer and meet English language and other stream requirements.
2. Temporary Residence Transition (TRT) Stream
The Temporary Residence Transition (TRT) stream of Subclass 186 allows holders of the Skills in Demand Visa (SID) (Subclass 482) or the Temporary Work (Skilled) Visa (Subclass 457) to transition to permanent residency.
The Temporary Work (Skilled) visa (subclass 457) is closed to new applications.

3. Labour Agreement (LA) Stream
The Labour Agreement stream of the Employer Nomination Scheme Visa (Subclass 186) allows skilled workers to be sponsored for permanent residency under a formal labour agreement between an employer and the Australian government.
This stream is typically used when standard visa programs cannot meet the employer’s workforce needs.

Step 1: Employer Nomination Application
The employer must submit a nomination application and meet the following criteria:
